ReGeneration Schools seeks highly organized and motivated Assistant Case Manager/Special Education Teacher to join our campuses. Reporting to the School Principal and Director of Specialized Services, the Asst. Case Manager plays a critical role in building a rigorous education for students with disabilities that maintains and goes beyond compliance. The Asst. Case Manager works with the school-based Specialized Services Team to ensure that effective Individualized Education Plans are created and implemented to ensure student achievement. The Asst. Case Manager serves as a resource for school staff regarding special education best practices, works closely with students and their families to ensure the individual needs of the student are being met, and are responsible for maintaining authentic compliance around State and Federal Law.
Qualifications:
- Believes low-income students can become college and career ready.

- Communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Demonstrate mastery of academic subjects and behavioral interventions.
- 2-5 years of teaching experience in an urban setting.
- Can show proof of full vaccination for Covid-19
- Valid LBS1 Special Education Teacher Certification required.
- Bachelor Degree from an accredited institution required.
Case Management Responsibilities (40-80%):
- Create and distribute calendar of all annual reviews and evaluations to comply with IDEA timelines, and provide updates as needed.
- Ensure families are notified in writing at least 10 days before all conferences.
- Chair and coordinate all FIEs/IEPs/BIPs/504s.
- Ensure parents and students receive all meeting paperwork and understand the FIE/IEP/BIP/504.
- Monitor and ensure implementation of all IEP services, accommodations and progress monitoring.
- Oversee the special education referral process, including collaborating with the School Principal to ensure MTSS implementation and documentation.
- Obtain IEPs and special education files for newly enrolled students, and coordinate services for new students.
- Ensure all IEPs are relevant, measurable, rigorous and compliant with Federal and State Law.
- Ensure transition plans are complete and 8th grade students and families are aware of excellent high school options.
- Ensure all relevant staff have copies, keep confidential, and understand how to use student IEPs, 504s and BIPs.
- Meet regularly with School Principal and Director of Specialized Services to collaborate, communicate, and continuously improve the special education program.
- Meet regularly with special education teachers, monitor IEP work and provide feedback on IEPs.
- Collaborate and communicate effectively and promptly with families, investing them in their students’ academic and character goals.
- Manage Special Education files.
- Attend CPS and ReGeneration Special Education meetings, and keep school staff informed of updates.
- Other responsibilities as needed.
Teaching Responsibilities (60-20%):
- Set and attain ambitious student achievement and character goals.
- Modify and implement curricular activities to meet academic standards.
- Design and implement informal and formal assessments to measure progress of students.
- Analyze data to inform instructional practices.
- Maintain a classroom that demonstrates discipline, order and rigor.
- Collaborate with fellow teachers to create a warm and rigorous environment, demonstrating shared responsibility for achievement.
- Adhere to and support all school policies to enforce school core values, high expectations, and strict code of conduct.
- Model and encourage appropriate student behavior (i.e. respect, responsibility, diligence, compassion, integrity, and perseverance).
- Ensure that all students graduate ready for the next academic level.
- Reflect critically on teaching practice and implement improvement strategies as needed.
- Participate in mandatory three-week summer training (beginning August 1).
